it's quiet Carruthers.... too quiet
« Reply #615 on: February 24, 2009, 12:02:14 AM »
Just to bring back this wonderful topic I'll punish you with one of my worst photos now ...
... just one small question before. I could have asked earlier but I didn't.
Some people say "It's never too late to learn something new." So I have the courage to ask now:
What is a carruther? I could only find a translation but I'm not sure if you meant this: "Rotschenkelhörnchen - Funisciurus carruthersi" is this right? For any enlightening informations I would be grateful.

And here is the picture:
http://forums.plakias.co.uk/index.php?act=...post&id=651

And the question is: "what shows this picture and what was the time when it was taken?"

Carruthers is a British surname, of Scottish origin.

The phrase comes from pre-war cinema – two British Colonial officials, suspecting the “natives” are restless, note the lack of the usual hub bub:

“It’s very quiet, sir”

“It’s too damn quiet, Carruthers!”

Ah, yes! Thank you very much for these explanations. Things become clear now.
Maybe I should have chosen the "German available option" earlier?!

Yours sincerely

That's dead easy - Micro Ammoudhi / Ammoudhaki. The palm trees have now almost died altogether, though.
