I've not much idea on this one. I tried to cheat by googling bits of the plaque. I think it says Manolis Vasileiou and something about Arkadia Monastery, but that didn't help me.

Is it Rethymnon, with the landscape picture showing the back of it?

it's a bit obscure so I'd better own up

it's Anogia (or Anoyia), I'd recommend it for a driving day out but it's too long long Plakias really

Harribobs,

Very obscure

At least this one's a south coast resort:

Apologies for poor quality, but it looks like weather wasn't too good.

that's nearly as bad as the tablecloth you posted   i can't make out anything!

Harribobs,

Yes, unfortunately the photograph's not very good - it was taken with an old-fashioned film camera and scanned. I doubt if a better picture would help though - this is Mirtos, which is west of Ierapetra.

I have been looking through the Crete galleries on your website - the zooming you can do your pictures is amazing. You look to have covered a lot of the island, but not this part of the south coast - I have seen Mirtos, Arvi, Keratokambos and Tsoutsoutoros, but I wouldn't recommend it.

ah mirtos!  we stopped there for lunch one day a couple of years ago, i agree i wouldn't want to spend a lot of time there, can't say i like ierapetra that much either

the pics on the smugmug site are all pretty recent, since i got interested on photography and bought decent camera. the current camera ( D200) produces pics (in raw format) that are 16 mbs in size!      when converted into jpegs they can be as big 5mbs, if you view them as original size they are huge!!

Harribobs,

Are we supposed to guess where the photograph was taken? I thought this was a bit obvious to most Plakiots

It looks like that beach at the foot of the Kourtaliotiko Gorge! I've seen it as quiet as that. Your picture looks to have been taken early in the morning.

down at suda, about 6 o clock inthe morning when i couldn't sleep

not a great photo but the clarity (sp) is superb, no heat haze, crystal clear

this is not the sharpest shot i've taken but i love it

*doesn't apply to mandy*
I have Chris. It's at the top of Timeos Stavros- a great walk from Plakias.

We have always been very discreet on our many visits and have not rung that bell   . I'm sure that Mandy has always been just as discreet   :'( .

It looks like we rung the bell, however this was just for the picture.

In my defence it was only a little "ping" and wouldn't have been audible anywhere.
