A real puzzler John. From the position of the sun it seems to be almost facing south. It's not Paleohora. If George is getting warm is it Kalives or Almerida? I can't rationalise them with the position of the sun though.

Wherever it is, it's a real tonic seeing these sunny photos what with all the rain in the UK recently.

More please.

I'm still no nearer getting it John but from what we know so far those hills in the background presumably must be the north coast of Crete. The peninsula where Hania airport is must have south facing beaches on the north coast. Put us out of our misery please.

You've got it Mike.
It is Marathi at the northern corner of the entrance to Souda Bay.
The view overlooks the mouth of the bay and the mountains are the north coast of Crete.
The mountains in the distance with clouds above are the White Mountains.

Well done Mike.

Somewhere near Kokkinos Pyrgos?

On second thoughts, that road snaking up into the hills looks like the one we used to get to Elafonisi.
