That's good to hear. A few more people employed in traditional occupations like fishing will help to keep Plakias special.

I agree with you totally- On another subject, a local "Artist" had an inspiration and painted the breakwater wall of the harbor. Be prepared- you can't miss it as you enter the town. Some of you don't like the fountain- boy are you going to have a field day with this bit of art. I suppose we will all get used to it in time. As for me, it is totally out of character especially the colors. Maybe it will look better after some RAKI- Hey- judge for yourself. Also, the taverna in the center of town- the one below the dive2gether center is gone and being replaced by some stores.

Well, on second thought it looks a lot better with the boats in front. I first saw it in the raw days of February and it did look a bit out of place.

Sorry everyone but I don't like it.

I enjoy sitting with a beer in one of the bars at the front after a long hard day at the beach and just taking in the view. The harbour wall will now stand out like a very big sore thumb.

We found the harbour wall painting for 90% well done. Some parts a bit childish.
Miss the view anyhow

I agree with Susan on this one. It's skilfully done but out of place.

While I'm on the subject of improvements, then getting the fountain mended and up and running and replacing some of the broken seats on the way to the far end would improve the appearance of the seafront.

For me the fountain is totally out of place and is a big joke with the strong winds.   Should be disposed off.

Agree on the broken benches. It looks terrible.
And a WARNING:
On the foot path from town to the far end quite a few iron pieces are sticking out   of the concrete pavement.
Can cause serious injuries! :'(

If you don't stub your toe at least once, your not in Plakias. Besides, they've been there for years, and not been mentioned 'til now.
Let's not get too Health and Safety shall we, it's bad enough the tour companies imposing rules and regs on the apartments, without us getting picky.

This is Greece!

If they fill in the depressions on the pavements between Livicon and Stella Pension then I shall stumble on the infill. I am programmed now for that walk - been the same for 10 years.
