Mike - did you book KC for October? - if not get in quick, prices have just reduced and we've just booked for a week from 5th Oct at under £400. Pete is seriously thinking of ringing one of the Costas direct to request room 7 (or another 'front' room) at Zorbas.
It must be a relatively easy walk to the Far End, we did it last year every day and are hoping the weather is equally kind this year to do the same thing! Someone said it takes 15 mins to walk from KC to the FE, we've never done it quite that quick as we have to visit the 'original' (but now much bigger) supermarket on the front up towards the Alianthos to purchase lunch for the beach, if not also the Forum or other places whilst meandering along. It's not that we're too mean to go to Paligremnos for lunch, just that we savour the beach so much. And if I ate a lunch I wouldn't be able to eat a doughnut in the afternoon and I have to do that, obviously, as I need the Extra Vitamina. On the way back we may well need to stop for a coffee - or any other perfectly valid reason!! Then if we need anything from the supermarket we would have to go to Ali & Dave's and if there's no-one else in the shop we would obviously have to linger for a chat - be rude not to, wouldn't it? - totally impossible in 15 mins IMHO, even with the aid of a hiking pole to save ze knees, LOL
There are flowers to look at in the dunes (some fantastic pure white lilies last year), birds to see, people to watch - all these things should not be undertaken too quickly, you know!
Can anyone tell me if the dredger is still at work in front of Zorbas? - did spoil the view (but just being picky!) At least the noise of the compressor stopped me lazing too long in my pit in the mornings!
