This is so so sad especially for the loss of life but also for the loss of such natural beauty, but as George says above in years to come it will hopefully grow back & be more beautiful, we pray...

I've just heard from Pete and Dawn, the fire evidently went all the way along to the monestry. The monument at the top of the hill has survived...Just! The fire crews were still around when they got there this morning.

What  very sad news, especially for the family of the man who died . I'm sure the area will recover in time. Thank goodness it hasn't spread any further

Although not liking the beach, the palms were a joy to walk through. As they were so established, I imagine it will take many years to return to something like it was. Very sad.
