Just returned from seven days in Plakias, some general comments and observations. Nothing changes much, the usual musical chairs over the winterwith shops and premises, and waiters. Not many of the actual workers are greek, in spite of the high unemployment, ? minimum wage!
Eating out seems to be slightly more expensive, but still good value. The best two meals were Apnoea and Minoiko, neither of which are mainstream , but good value, very 'Greek' and very good. Am I the only one on the forum who eats at Apnoea?
Sun loungers at far-end, not many, but loads at Bay of pigs. Nudism, most greeks couldn't care less nowadays. Anyone disputing that should remember that until recently, the largest shop in town displayed hard core porn at knee level. Sad that the bakery is closed, but I am told its only for a refit.
I've just had a week, booked at short notice, which was devoid of problems, inexpensive and enjoyable....what more can anybody want?
