Not at all like you Georgie.  That Cretan man was tanked up on Raki and for one moment I thought he was going to abduct me - I think it fair to sake he took a shine to me - will be giving him a wide berth if I see him on the road again this May.  We'll buy raki from the supermarket - its easier

The Rough Guide doesn't say alot about Sissi. Is it worth a visit or a stay?

Stuart

Definitely worth a visit.  I love the place and they sell Warsteiner beer!  Watch out for expensive prawns in the taverna tho!

I'll stick to homebrew, the last stuff I bought at the airport, I'm using as metal polish.

Nice to hear from you Mandy, hope the new jobs ok and your keeping to your usual self

Two shots of the same place for you. Apologies about the quality. These were taken about 10-12 years ago.

No suggestions yet. This means that either no-one has a clue where this is, or that you only look at this site when you are at work!

So I'll give you a clue: it is on the north coast of Crete and has a more well-known namesake elsewhere.

Daisy,

Yes, it is Bali.

I think I went there the first time I travelled around Crete independently, so I was a bit green. I thought it was unwise to get all the way back from Plakias to Heraklion airport by bus on the day that I was flying out in the afternoon. Since then, I have done it in one day a few times.

Mind you, those were there days when I saw people with rucksacks unable to get on the bus from Plakias to Rethymnon and having to wait for the next one. It used to be a popular way of travelling.

Looks like it could be looking North West across Plakias bay, perhaps from somewhere near Amoudi.
