Not at all like you Georgie.  That Cretan man was tanked up on Raki and for one moment I thought he was going to abduct me - I think it fair to sake he took a shine to me - will be giving him a wide berth if I see him on the road again this May.  We'll buy raki from the supermarket - its easier

Definitely worth a visit.  I love the place and they sell Warsteiner beer!  Watch out for expensive prawns in the taverna tho!

Yes, it is Bali.

I think I went there the first time I travelled around Crete independently, so I was a bit green. I thought it was unwise to get all the way back from Plakias to Heraklion airport by bus on the day that I was flying out in the afternoon. Since then, I have done it in one day a few times.

Mind you, those were there days when I saw people with rucksacks unable to get on the bus from Plakias to Rethymnon and having to wait for the next one. It used to be a popular way of travelling.
