Hi Folks

Just in case you thought Harribobs had perhaps passed away and gone to heaven I thought it might be appropriate to explain his absence on the board.

Sadly Chris is confined to the house suffering from a rather bad episode of gout in his foot.

You might want to have some sympathy for the poor man who cannot move about very well nor has he access to the internet right now.  He has to resort to watching day time TV and I fear if he does not return to work soon will actually come to enjoy it!

I am glad to say he is on the mend and will be back on the board soon.  I know he is missing his fix of the Plak gossip!

Hope you are all well.

Mandy

Sorry to hear of Chris' condition, please wish him well.

Isn't one of the "cures" for gout abstinence from alcohol?

Indeed it is Mike!  Poor man - cant blame the alcohol this time - he has been sober for two weeks!

Maybe it is the football team Chris supports that is the cause of his gout Mandy!!!!!!

They sure give me a pain in the neck sometimes.

Please give Chris my best wishes for a speedy recovery as I know gout can be very painful indeed.

Hi Chris

Just wake up and kick it off, mate. I can't be that hard. I get rid of mine easily. Gouts on the foot are quite common when you have as close relationships with them as I have (and sheep too) See pic[attachment=419:attachment]

Tom
PS Hope this will not affect your mountain-walking for too long. PSS

Hello Mandy,

Best wishes to the Great Man. I think in times gone past they thought it was due to a surfeit of stilton and port and other rich fare. What have you been feeding him on?

Raki is supposed to be a cure-all. Worth a go? Probably best to rub it in if he isn't allowed alcohol.

Hi Mike

Good advice indeed!  need a trip to Plak to get raki i'm afraid   I may have to review our diet and sack the rich food but there has to be some pleasures in life especially as we have given up alcohol - temporarily I hope

Hi Shinaria

Chris is now back at work and much improved.  We normally leave the Raki back in Crete as it never quite tastes the same on a cold winters night!

Thanks very much to everybody for their good wishes, they must worked as i am very pleased to announce i'm almost completely recovered

it's a very painful experience and annoyingly connected to living the good life. not what you'd expect after being on a diet for weeks!

I have had the same condition many years ago Chris and know exactly what you went through.......very painful indeed ( not as painful as watching my footie team at the moment though !  .  Glad to see you are recovered and now earning a living to pay for the next Plakias visit.
