Oh no she isn't Ploppy. Both Gary & I thought it was great and we are sad at it's demise. Used it when we went up to the village to eat - great fun!!

Hi George
We believe it is something to do with sewerage, hopefully it will soon be done!
not much fun laying on a sunbed with them running up & down the beach

Definitely sewerage. Don't want to think too much about what treatment this normally receives in Plakias before entering the sea.

Is it to do with the new hotel which is presumably going somewhere near where Meltemi used to be?

It is quite a long way from the far end so shouldn't affect farenders, except you have to walk past it. The work seemed pretty intermittent in May.

Santa is going to see the mayor this weekend. Possibly he can inform us about the work and newbuildings?

Thanks Dotty
Can I take the opportunity to thank everyone so far who has already been, for sending back all the information and pictures.
It's a great help and creates enormous anticipation for the late goers!

Just got back from Plakias this morning and am having withdrawal symptoms already. Just to let you know that the " drainage work " has all been completed.

It did cool down alot after you left Chris, so much so that sweaters and fleeces were the order of the day at the Livicon. Just have confirmed Septembers holiday and I see you are going back too..great.

The Train has gone? finished? to be no more? - SHAME - My wife and I enjoyed the evening trips to Mirtios, and also the day trips out, they were a relaxing, peaceful way to enjoy the countryside without the exertion of walking. The Monastery trip was excellent, especially the lunch stop in Lefkogia, we were planning to do the trip again, and stay on at the village taverna for an extended lunch, taking a taxi back to Plakias when we had emptied the place of Mythos, house wine and ouzo.
Is there an appeals system? Can we get the train back?
Perhaps there is a case for a vote on the forums to see what the overall view of the train is.
Untill September

I thought you would have brought him back with you. I bet he will be waiting for you in September.
