Ahh. knew my order off pat by the end of two weeks: "portokali freska kai nero".

Noops, with my new and improved greek, i'd say that was a fresh orange juice and water?

Μπράβο, χάρημπομπς !

Ελλαδα-τρελλός
Bravo harribobs indeed!

P.S. Not sure what "trellos" means, Greecemad.

Not too sure of the Greek but my ancient (40 years ago) Latin version is:

Cogito ergo ................ ummmmmmm

{You may groan, now}

Barny,

I don't know off hand. I will try to work it out with the dictionary when I am at home.

I don't remember hearing that.

Barny.
Νομι΄ζω (haven't worked out how to put the accent over the letter) is I think.  Haven't reached maybe in my course yet.

Right,

There seem to be various words for 'I think', i.e. σκέπτομαι (skeptome), συλλογίζομαι (siloyeezome), διανοούμαι (thiano-oume) [in each case, pronounce the e at the end]. Νομίζω (Nomeezo) doesn't seem to appear under 'think' in the English section, but if I look up Νομίζω in the Greek section it does mean 'I think'. Maybe is ίσως.

So 'I think maybe' could be 'Νομίζω ίσως'. (Nomeezo eesos), e.g. 'Νομίζω ίσως να θέλεις μια μπίρα'

Noopsy, to type accents use the key that gives you a semi-colon when typing English and press this before the letter that you want accented (when you press the semi-colon key nothing will appear to happen - the cursor doesn't move).

I wonder if I am the only one of the regular contributors to this forum who has never been into the Ostraco bar.

Very possibly! Mind you, we don't go there often - a litre of wine + complimentary rakis with our meal is usually enough for us.  I hate admitting it but we're most likely to be in bed by 11pm  .

Afraid we haven't been in either - except a couple of years ago to use the PC facilities.
