Just returned from 2 weeks at Kostas Chrysoulla and for the first time in 5 consecutive years of staying there had a bad time, at least initially, with the accomodation. On arrival assigned room 67 which has to go down as the worst room i've ever encountered. The first thing I had to do was clean the toilet, shower and basin, the bathroom window had 2 panes of glass missing and all surfaces had a film of dust. The shower had no means of attaching it to the wall and the shower head was held together with masking tape. I wasn't chuffed with it but thought I'd stick it out until the next day and have a word with Morven. I soon changed my mind when I closed the bathroom door behind me and found myself trapped in the bathroom for 20 minutes. Went and complained to Kostas and was moved to a room in the block over the wall behind the swimming pool. The room itself was fine, but the door didn't fit and just banged all night in the strong winds. So after a sleepness night finally got moved into room 7 in Zorbas above the jewellery shop. Great room, big balcony and a great sea view. Could get a bit noisy out the front but that was no big deal, it makes a change to be able to watch the village go by of an evening.
One final point. Am I possibly the only person who actually enjoyed their stay in the 'broom cupboard'? Had the room last year and though it was great. Huge room, cool, quiet and a shaded balcony which felt like you were looking out onto your own private courtyard garden. Shame it gets such a bad press on the board.
