Thanks ppl for shining your light on the subject
As some of you state I rather pay a little extra to get exactly what I want, holiday is too important, cannot afford to end up at the wrong place.
Besides, both the misses and me are teaching so we are forced to go in school holidays so no bargain hunting for us
Anyway, only 230 days to go..........

Hello !

Can anyone point out the Kostas-Chrysoulla Studios on the "google map"....

We've just booked, and are wondering where abouts they are.

Thanks to all.

If you look at the list on the left hand side for what you want, hit it and the map should zoom in to it!

I'm a  single traveller, and have now been home 2 days after a really nice week in Plakias staying at Kostas Chrysoulla.

I have no complaints, the accomodation is basic but really clean, the  cleaner came  in every day, everything worked.
There was a hairdryer, a safe and  air conditioning if needed.

Breakfast at the pool bar was 4 euros. for as much as you liked including coffee, orange juice and when you consider it was 2 euros at most places for a coffee ( Nescafe) was good value.

The pool was very clean The two Kostas were great, and nothing was too much trouble.

The bar was good to go back to after an evening out. No closing time and when it got too late for Kostas  he went home leaving us to it in the bar after making sure we were well stocked with drinks.  (Well, it was 3 am most days before we left !!)
I made some good friends there too.

I wouldn't hesitate to go back,

Jann

A week is not enough is it Jann? Glad you enjoyed it though, maybe have another week later on in the year eh?
How did you find the travelling alone and being alone? Plakias is the kind of place that makes you feel at home and you can make friends very quickly as you obviously did if you were still around at 3.00am

It was a fabulous week George, and I was quite happy travelling alone no problems at all.

Plakias is certainly a good place to be on your own too, I didn't feel out of place at all really. Everyone was really helpful and all the tavernas I ate in were great, all of them gave me little starters and sweets and RAKI of course (topped up as many times as you liked) free of charge.  I also always have half a litre of retzina with my meal so you can imagine me staggering back to the KC bar to start on the beer ! (I rarely drink at all usually,  believe it or not. ) But not one hangover it was great .

I also met Kerstin in Harakas when she recognised me and introduced herself it was  lovely to meet her   and the lady owner asked me if I'd been to  Plakias before as she thought she remembered me and my husband !

I made a good friend in another lady on her own too and  we had a few meals out together, also spent a lot of time with 2 other couples who were very kind and great company.

back to reality now    I'm definitely thinking of returning later in the year

ps I should also mention the fantastic Olympic rep Ian. The best rep I have ever encountered, he obviously loves Plakias as much as we do and goes the extra mile to help anyone

You'll fit in really well Jan, most of us on here are tea total!

I haven't decided yet about this year, but who knows I might get one of my urges, and get down there late Aug/Sept. Maybe we'll have a cuppa together

Hello Jann,

yes, we are back too. We arrived at home today in the afternoon.
We had a wonderful stay in Plakias. The weather was beautiful and much more hotter as during the last years at the same time.
During the last days we had more than 30 degrees but sometimes it was very humid and we had no wind on the beach.
The sea was very lovely and we enjoyed it every day.
It was very nice to meet you in the Harakas and I am very proud of myself that I said "HELLO" to you because I was not sure
that I saw the right person.

Kerstin

Hi Kerstin,
I am so pleased that you did say hello to me in Harakas,

It was very nice to meet you   and thank you for inviting me to meet you the day after at the beach, but it was the day when it was very very windy and I did not venture far that day.

The airports have been closed again in England  today, due to volcanic ash. I wish  I had gone for 2 weeks as there's a good chance that I would  have been stranded in Plakias

Maybe I will see you next year  Kerstin, it was a lovely time of year to go

Jann

I can't do that Viagra stuff, I tried it once and it got stuck in my throat! I ended up with a stiff neck for a day !

Glad you enjoyed your stay at Kostas-Chrysoulla Jann.  I see you haven't mentioned Angelo the barman - does that mean he isn't there this year?
