What's happening with Stella Pensions??

Sorry about that 'repeat' - finger trouble.

Quick update.   Frederico closed the Plateia in Mirthios yesterday (Wednesday 27 Oct 04) - so Marcos is now a relatively free agent and in a position to handle telephone (or preferably fax) bookings for 2005.

Understand he is working on a web site for Stella Pension - but please remember, it has been a long season and he may want to take a little time to recharge batteries before leaping into cyberspace.

Thanks everyone for all your info, it's been really helpful.  My wife's just booked flights for next June for my big 40  , so I will be on the fax machine at work on Monday to book a room. We have stayed at Stella for the last five years and always had a different room. Having a memory like a sieve especially after a few in Ostraco's!     Can anyone confirm that room 7 is the  first double room at the back on the upper floor. Also does anyone know what room number the very end room on the left on the same floor is ( I know it's got two single beds but it's got a sea view). I hope someone can refresh my memory and once again thanks for all your help. If anyone's in town on July 2nd see you in Ostraco's late !!!

I have a room plan of Stella right beside me.

Ground floor - front (sea side) all twin rooms 8, 9, 10 (10 far end)
Ground floor back - room 11 (double) at far end. Room 12 a self catering apartment (double) at near end, back.

1st floor :-

On front (sea side) all twins 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 (so 5 is far left room on 1st floor)
On back - all double, rooms 7, 6 (numbered from near end) - so yes, 7 is the first double room at back on 1st floor.

Hope the above helps.

Hope you can let me know how Stella are coping when you get there. I'm booked for 2 weeks end of September / beginning of October. All the rest of our party (the Stella Pensioners or Saga Louts have booked elsewhere. Wonder what we said :'(

Thanks a lot John. We can now hopefully get the room we want. We thought long and hard about going it alone or booking with a travel firm. In the end we decided to go it alone and stay at the Stella because we love it so much. It's nice and quiet and has a lovely feel about the place. We hate big hotels and like bathing on the beach, not around a crowded pool. Also we know where it is when we've had a few!   I hope regulars like the Stella Pensioners try to go it alone in future and give Stella and Yanni their custom.
I'm sure they'll let you know where they're staying. If not it must have been something you said!!!

I have just receved a Christmas card from Stella Pension (nice touch) and they quote an email address - which I suspect will go to Marcus their Son.

It is brokalak@otenet.gr

Haven't tried it yet but it might be useful for those making bookings etc if it works.

Thanks John. We also got a card today. Have been in touch with Marcos via fax and have received details about room prices.  The cost is 30 euros a night including breakfast and air conditioning. This seems pretty good to us as air con use to cost an extra 30 euros a week. Does anyone know what Stella and Yanni would appreciate from England. We would like to take them something when we go in July?

That is the price he quoted us. Didn't mention the air conditioning, though we didn't go into details nor ask for a written quote.

Can't think of anything offhand to take from England - nice thought though - will get thinking.
