hey there guys!    Found this site about a year ago, just got around to  joining!     Worked in plakias in '99,I had been going on holiday there every year(I too caught the Plakias Bug!  ) managed a day visit last year 2003 but only got around to seeing a couple of old friends ie; chicago Joe and Nikos previously from Glaros- I was so glad to hear he is now a proud father! I was myself visiting with my partner (who I also met in Plakias) and our young son. There were so many friends   I didn't get the chance to see, Sharon&Yianni, Sivies, Apostoles,Nikos from the Forum.... how are they all?

Having been in Plakias for the semi and final it was an experience we shall never forget, don't get me wrong neither of us can stand football and have never watched a game before, but we would not have missed it for the world, painting our faces, tee shirts, flags and whistles.
Whilst we were vastly outnumberd by the Czeck contingent staying at the Lamon WE pulled it off, you've never seen such a quick exit of people in your life, and as for the celebrations afterwards, fireworks, red flares, a couple of sticks of dynamite in the bay, the odd rifle shot, cars and trucks up and down for what seemed like hours. We might now start watching football, but of course only supporting one team GREECE (you have to wonder though when they will be on TV again)
By the way did anyone else that was there notice the sheep in the field on the beach road painted blue, we had to stop the car and do a double take, it must have taken ages to do it.
