That was superb - can't think where it was  

I was impressed the way the message came up immediately without waiting for the larger (but sensibly sized) photo attachment.

One reason for writing this reply is to see if all the messages in the thread come up before the photos load  - still blushing from my faux pas in this respect many onths ago.

Re the 1977 picture, when I click on it to get the larger version it fails.  Anyone else having the same problem?

Fine for me as well. The Status bar does day 'Downloading ....' so maybe your security settings could be preventing something John

Relieved to say it worked for me too. Now want to know how to add my own photo's having been away for three weeks and have missed such a lot.

I am exceptionally impressed the way the messages all come up instantly independently of the number and size of photos which have been loaded as attachments to the various messages. This is a real bonus and should encourage the use of many photos within the individuals allowance limit. Very clever stuff

Very nice, my screensaver at work now is full of Plakias photos. No matter how many, there are always new aspects to this beautiful bay. God's own country.

Hi Andy,

When I click the small picture a new Internet Explorer window opens, pauses for a while and then displays a small box containing a red cross (the symbol for a missing picture).
I've tried refreshing, ctrl+f5 and right clicking the box and selecting 'show picture',  nothing I can do will make it work.

By the way, all the others in this thread work fine.

Personally, I've been able to see all the pics - and a big thank you to all the posters!
I would echo Andy's point though - smaller file sizes for pictures would be much better - especially for those with slow connections!

It's very interesting to see old photographs of Plakias. I like the one taken in 1977, but it's so different from my first memories of 14 years ago so that I can't place it, even if I try to compare it with Lance's 1982 photographs. Can you explain which buildings are on your photograph.

I assume that originally the only way of getting to Plakias (when it was the port for Myrthios) was down the old track from Myrthios. If so, when Lance's photographs were taken in 1982 was this still the case, or had the present road into the village been built? There was no road behind the beach at this time, so were there two parts to the village that were separated by the stream? Or am I completely wrong?

The picture is of my earliest memory of Plakias - now I know how to add pictures too.
