Unfortunately, we're back

Well I must say that the advice and tips received from all of you helped to make our "short" holiday most enjoyable!! 9 Days was not enough, I think 9 years would do the trick.

We thought due to the relative non-reaction of this forum that something would be strange about our accomodation, the Kalypso Cretan Village. Turns out that it is totally booked by a French tour operator with the exception of a few bookings through ANSO. Still it's a nice place with spectacular views and diving.

As for the rest of Plakias, tis a truly wonderful place still relatively unspoilt, that took us back to so many places in Greece some 20 odd years ago. Nice people with good attitudes, good food generally and in some places still home cooked at prices that whilst not cheap still offer great value for money. This whole section of the coast is a paradise, with just about as many beaches of every type as anyone could wish for. We did however, love the far end at Plakias and spent most of our time there. Thanks for all your pointers guys, we will definitely go back again if the chance arises.

Ahh, that terrible low feeling of being back after a visit to Plakias. I know it well.

It's looking less likely that I'll get the time to visit myself this year due to work etc. To cheer myself up I started looking back at some pics from previous visits. Some of you will have seen the majority of these before (sorry!) but there are a couple of new ones triggered by mention of the Castro taverna in another topic.

It is nice to look back over old pics and you've certainly got some nice ones . Always a problem to like a place a lot too and then have problems to get back there again due to other commitments  We are not sure when my next visit there will be, as we are currently finishing a contract in Afghanistan and then return home to Bolivia, which makes it very expensive to consider holidays in Europe, except for the visits to family in the UK. Still we wouldn't have missed Plakias for the world and as for a return date, well "sweet dreams are made of this"
