we r 1st timers

I am so looking forward to our first time in plakias and finding this site has only increased my desire to get there!

we have little choice on dates but will be there for two weeks from 26/6/04.

I'm to scared to ask questions incase the answer doesn't live up to expectations,but having read various things about how windy it can get i am a little nervous that this may spoil our stay.

Is anyone else going to be there during the same two weeks?

We have been to crete before and had a nice holiday in gouves but this time i didnt choose plakias it sort of chose me and i had no option but to book.

It just feels right.

 you will enjoy, Plakias is that sort of place . If you unfortunally come across the winds in  june, CC is a good place to shelter, We usualy hed for Nico's cafe to shelter.    A mythos or 2 help

am sure you will enjoy and the wind won't bother you - if it does indeed blow go with it, just don't sit on any sun loungers !!

Just go and enjoy the peace and tranquility of Plakias.......

Ooh thank you for the replies , i didn't think anyone would bother!!!


We will make a point of not sitting on the sun loungers if there is a hint of a blow and i have no problem with the idea of a few drinks while it blows itself out.

I think i may have one now just to get in practise .....................


So many people saying such good things about this place and returning year after year.

I'm worried now that we will become so chilled out and happy we may never want to leave....

Don't worry about the winds, (see my article "where to go/windy weather")
  it's got the ideal solution, believe you me it's great.
Also suggest you look at my other article "holiday companies/getting about"
as Plakias is so remote a car is essential so you might find it usefull
It' our 13th year running and wouldn't even consider going anywhere else.
We shall be there on the 29th june, always stay at the Lamon, you can't miss it.
Pop in and see us one night (just ask for us everyone there knows us) and share a drink or 2 or 3 or ?
