Major building work underway at far end!!

A new beach bar under construction about 75 yards from the Palagremos beach bar, and towards the far ends so will be giving the existing bar a bit of competition !!
Looks like it will be finished and open by week end and it is directly opposite the Plakias Suites accommodation so may be something to do with that set up ?

( sorry for the sensational headline, but had to get your attention)

Didn't they start building one somewhere near there about 15 years ago? And pulled down again very quickly

Yes I remember that. It didn't really get built. just ended up a pile of wood. What about this one though?

Main bits came on the back of a low loader.
Today they are fitting the covered sitting area at the front.
Looks fairly permanent to me ?

Yes, this is near the existing beach bar opposite Paligremnos. It is probably built now but looks like a similar beach bar.

Will probably be open this week, electricity was been connected on Tuesday and freezers delivered. I'll try and get a photo to post

Just checked the web, searched for 'new beach bar Plakias' and got links to Mes Tin Ammo, which I guess is the new beach bar, but it has been there before, so probably just a new build on the old site.
Looks good, only 10 weeks to go then I can check it out!

Nothing to do with that one, Its about 30 mt. east past Pelygramnos beach bar, on the same side, looks like its owned by Plakias Suits which on the opposite side of the road

It's not exactly 'In your face' it seems smaller than the other one, nothing to worry about.
There is so much building work going on I don't think the place will be the same in a few years. I've just had a great two weeks there!

We will be back there in 12 days time, Ryanair permitting !!
I hope that George and Crete Mare are ready for us.

I will have a beer at this new bar and see what it is like.
Then to the sun beds, about 20 yards away.

Just remember that however much it changes, they can not take off us what we have already had in Plakias, over the many, many years of enjoyment.

Just got back, wonderful time in Crete, micro ammoudi was to crowded with Greek family's, mostly dressed.
Far end was crowded but wonderful. chair guy sprayed the beach in the morning when there was wind so the sand did not blow away.
Donutman still doing his rounds.
Counting down now, back on october 5th.
