Sofia hotel 2016
« on: January 09, 2016, 05:53:04 PM »
Mostly posting to say hello again to everybody. Wasn't on the forum last year since we decided to have a year off from Plakias and instead went to Leros for our late summer break. Interesting. Anyway Plakias is calling again, despite it seeming to get busier and busier and definitely looking more to Eastern Europe for its visitors in recent years, or that's how it seemed. We had a nice time at Sofia about four or five years ago and are looking to repeat that this time in late September. Booked as usual with Olympic and the website freaked out when I tried to add a taxi booking (no Olympic transfer available). I remember lots of you know of decent local firms you can book a transfer with - any advice along those lines would be welcome, but no rush :)

You need to use,  Taxi4you.gr  based in Plakias, a very good reliable service,

Fancy a Mythos?

I second that.
Just booked my transfer for July with Zacharias (taxi4you.gr).
And if you book trip and return together, you get a discount.

Best Regards,
Andy

ooh - If you've already booked then it may be a bit late (unless you perhaps amend the departure dates with Olympic) but from my local airport - Tuesdays have transfers only -  but this year, Olympic are offering other departure days too, but they don't include transfers . Perhaps there are transfers from your airport if you choose and alternative day??? just a suggestion.

Too late now for others, but as I was on the Olympic email list, I was aware of their 12 islands of Christmas promotion, and day 11 was Crete, promising to save £100 per booking, and, true to their word, I bagged a week at KC for the price I would have paid Easyjet for just the flight from Gatwick!!!!
So we now have 1 week in Plakias in October, early flight from Gatwick, no transfers, but booked taxi with Zacharias, 20kg. luggage (need to replenish Ouzo, baklava and Loukoumi stocks).
Job done.
In June we will be in Agios Nikolaos (Selinitsa) on the Mani peninsula for the first time ever, looking to find another Plakias
See you all there.

Thanks for the info Daza. Yes already booked - we are going Easyjet from Bristol. Olympic transfers have become a bit of a mystery in recent years imho - a bit like their pricing! Anyway will pay up and look big and enjoy the Merc. JB Mouse did well! I was a bit slow off the mark there - Olympic seem to have got all their promotions in early this season.

Harumphhh!   >:(
I get emails from Olympic but I certainly didn't get the 12 islands of Christmas promotion sent to me!!!! I'll have words with them. No - fat chance of that - communication with Head Office is difficult to say the least. Well done JB Mouse on your bargain.
