Where to Drink!
« on: October 09, 2014, 05:11:32 PM »
Ostraco is great if you're wanting to stay close to the centre, but walking back from the Far End today, we popped into the Paligremnos, as we have done many times in the past. Not at all welcoming - maybe they want afternoon trade to use their beach bar. No milkshakes and all soft drinks (for Karen) are in small bottles, so we moved on. The beach bar is 4 Euro for a 500ml Mythos, so we gave that a miss. Antoni's Place has a nice feel to it, and at 2.5Euro for a Mythos, it gets my vote. :)

I like Nufaro. If we are eating out then I usually drop in early evening with a good book for an aperitif, until my wife drags me out.

Joe is always welcoming, and the elderly locals usually in there chewing the fat, or playing backgammon, adds something.

Has anyone tried the new bar along the far end? I think it's called "The Rich and Famous", which ensures that I'll never set foot in the place. Looks very modern with nice landscaped garden at the front, and was empty every time we passed it by.

Opened & closed in the summer, that's all we can say except there is a legal reason for it not staying open.

Many people share the same view regarding the name.

We love the Smerna Bar & Plakias on the Rocks both for the views & friendliness which make it a fun time  ;)

On The Rocks, anytime of day, but extra special at sunset, and The Livicon for a couple of drinks before dinner, and ice creams late afternoon!!! Roll on to our next holiday in Plakias, hopefully October IF Olympic give some good late season discounts.

Ostrako because you can find draught Mythos there; Livicon or Smyrna because you can find Dave and Les there!

Anywhere with friends....

We tend to use the Ostraca but we've spent many lovely mornings gazing out to sea from the Aponema (next to On the Rocks), many lazy afternoons at the Livikon watching the world go by and many cooler evenings/nights laughing with Angel at the Pool Bar . But, to be honest, as long as it's I Plakias I don't really mind !

Yes - Livicon is the perfect place for watching the flow of people along the street. Comfy seats as well. :)
