It's gone very quiet !

We have been there several times in September and even until the end of October.  Occasional day of rain at the end of October.  The majority of the tavernas and cafés stay open until the end of October.  We love that period and are sad we cannot go a second time this year.  You will not regret it8

Hmmm sorry if this comes up as two posts ! Not sure what happened there !
I agree with John. We are usually there in September/early October due to birthdays and we've only ever had one storm and two rainy days in over 20 years. Nothing seems to close early and although a little cooler, the ambience is just the same. If you're there for the 27th Sept you even get the Tourism Festival which is a real treat. Who knows...might see you there.

we were in plakias until mid Nov last year, and although some places had closed, there was still a reasonable choice. The weather was pretty good, although the air temp is not as high, the sea water is like a bath....Oct. is good

The conditions at present are much as what you might expect during September:  not too hot, very little wind, but...loads of free sunbeds at the far end!

We nearly always visit early May or late September/early October. Still plenty of (all?) tavernas open on previous visits; we're off again on 21st Sep so I guess we'll see if this year is the same.

Anyone there at the moment?
What's the weather like, according to the Prevali weather website it is scorching (over 30 deg) and very little wind.
Just wondered how accurate this is.

Yep. Just before midday on 12 September. Extremely hot with no wind. http://www.accuweather.com/en/gr/plakias/185968/hourly-weather-forecast/185968 has it about right.

Very hot Souda weather this morning was showing 40c we've taken a trip to Rethymnon to see friends & it's as hot there too.
Weather is forecast to b good for next few days, hopefully until we leave next week.
