Nice one Ali.  It will be good to have you or Dave there and I can't imagine anyone being superstitious about an even number for dinner.

By the way, are you missing anything from the UK?  Tea bags?  Marmite?  Bacon?  The Archers?  The rush hour?

Ploppy,

We aim to shut the shop around 11.30 but it's quite often later than that.  Just in time for everyone to be finishing their meals so we can join them for a drink!!

John,

Desperately missing real ale so if someone could bring out a barrel, it would be great!!!  Definitely not missing the rush hour but we are missing Tescos Veggie Burgers.

Looking forward to seeing you

Ali and Dave

Ali:  Veggie burgers would not travel well in this heat but if we bring the cool box I'll see what I can do.  A barrel of real ale would exceed my baggage allowance but I might be able to manage a couple of bottles of Marstons Pedigree?

Latest update for dinner at Medousa at 9pm on Friday 5th September:

Valerie and me
Graham and Karen
Allan and Fran
Rosi and David ???
Ploppy (Paul) and Marge
Yvonne and Peter
Ostraco (John) + 4
JanM + 1
Lin and Steve
Ali or Dave

Total = 22.

If anyone changes their mind please let me know by text message on the number above.  No doubt Medousa will be pleased to get such a big booking but I'd hate to leave them with empty tables.

Allan Barham: Allan, I haven't heard from Rosi and David so, to be on the safe side, I'll assume they will not be there unless I hear something to the contrary.

Ostraco: Hi John.  No doubt you are just finishing your packing.  Have a good trip!

Could you add two more and make that 15 please John.

I can always pop in to the restaurant when we get there to find out if the booking is ok.  We are flexible if the booking changes.

Looking forward

Hi Rich and Wendi.

Welcome to The Plakias Forums Dining Syndicate!
That's 24 and counting.....

Talk about the Plakias train!
This topic and event is taking on all the characteristics of a run-away-train!
What have I started here?
I just hope I don't get the blame if it all goes pear-shaped!

Some time ago I did think about organising some live music but dismissed the idea because I thought we'd all be more interested in talking to each other.
What does everone else think?

I think you are right John, we'll probably be busy nattering away. Maybe this can become an annual event? Music could be a possibility for next year.

John
I expect you've already considered the hugh amount of brain strain involved in working out who owes what when the bill arrives after dinner on the 5th.  How about starting a kitty at the beginning of the evening?

Funny you should mention that.
I was just thinking of posting a question for those attending whether they'd prefer to split the bill per head or take care of their own.

Splitting the bill would be easiest for the restaurant but maybe if there are any tee-totlers on a diet in the group it wouldn't be fair on them.

If we pay for our own meals then it is best to pay individually. One method that's doomed to failue is if one bill arrives and then each person puts in what they've calculated as being what they owe - somehow the pot always ends up short!

Yes thats a tricky one. On the one hand splitting would be easier but that wouldn't be fair on the tee-totaler with the appetite of a mouse compared to the vino glugging person who hasn't eaten in 3 days

Well I wont be starving myself for 3 days, far too much yummy food to enjoy but I imagine some wine might be imbided!
