Next year's meet may not be on a Friday as usual.  This year the meet was on the night following the Kali Sykia Raki Festival and certain members were a little 'tired and emotional' following that.  Perhaps it would be a good idea if they weren't on consecutive nights.  Next year the Festival is on Friday 9th September.  So, I'm considering Wednesday 7th September 2005 or Monday 12th September 2005.

Excellent idea, after all every day is a Friday on holiday

It was the sun, and swallowing too much sea-water on the boat trip, and the alignment of the planets... not the Raki or Metaxa or the Wine... honest guv

By the way, I notice that we've set a new record for online users at 13:26 today, 34.

Yes I was online at the time but missed seeing them. I have been online when there have been a lot of guests and many of them had the same IP address so i'm not sure what is going on there, maybe an unrecognized spiderbot. Next time i'll do a WHOIS on the IP address.

I am very doubtful that there were 34 users online at 13.46 yesterday. I was online around that time (it is my usual login time) and it is quite rare for there to be more than 5 showing at the bottom of the screen.

Are you suggesting that there is something wrong with my eyes?
Or my brain?

I saw that it said 34 users online but when I clicked show details by last click to see what they were looking at, they were not there.. weird.

Thanks Allan.  And thanks for pointing out my error with the caption.  I've amended it now.  Sorry Graham and Karen!

All Plakforms planning to attend next year's meet please let me know your preferences for date, time and place.  I will attempt to organise it to suit as many as possible but please bear in mind the saying: "You can please some of the people all of the time and all of the people some of the time, but not all of the people all of the time."

So, get in early!

Either date will be good for us, John.  Looking forward to it.  Of course none of us new about the Raki festival  or the effects it would have had on SOME of us!  Naming no manes of course!

Either day is ok with us as well. Hope to experience the Raki festival next year also. We went there a few days later (during the day) but clearly it quickly reverts to a very sleepy village

Not suggesting either of these, just observing that to have even 5 members online at that time of day is unusual. It is nearly that time today and I am the only member online (or was 5 mins ago!).

Plakforms Meet 10 September 2004 pictures now here.

Raki Festival and others to come.
[{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a]

At last I've finished editing this year's pictures.
This batch includes some of Ploppy's (those with names beginning IMG) and the Kali Sykia Raki Festival ones are in there.
In case you're wondering about all the numbers in the captions and file names, they are generally to indicate the date (and maybe the time) taken in the form YYMMDDHHMM and the final number is the sequential image counter.

You'll find them [a href=\"http://www.compage.com/plakias/2004/]here[/url].

Good stuff John.

I enjoyed looking at them, thanks for the time and effort. I like the caption for me and Marge going for breakfast

Cheers,

Paul

For the 2005 Plakforms Meet, the proposal is to have it on Monday 12th September at 8 p.m. at Medousa.

This is a slightly later date than previous years to avoid dates close to the Kali Sykia Raki Festival which is believed to be on the 9th September.

The idea of moving it an hour earlier to 8 p.m. is to avoid disturbing local residents in the quiet area around Medousa.
In 2003 we had the Meet at Medousa but did not start until 9 p.m.
We were all still there at midnight and making quite a racket!
How does everyone feel about this?
Want to start earlier or later?

The reason for returning to Medusa is that they are one of the few tavernas able to cope with a party of 20 or more around one table and because we all seemed to enjoy it there last time.

For now, this is just a proposal.
Those interested in attending please post your remarks, alternative proposals or suggestions here.

The calendar entry and list of attendees is here.

Medusa suits us, as does the earlier start time - Looking forward to it already
