Most certainly will be going with an open mind as I always do when visiting a new place. We've been to some wonderful places and some have been revisited. Pefkos on Rhodes is very relaing for us as we usually stay on the outskirts of the village. Jan says it is bigger than Plakias and probably a bit more lively.
Arillas in NW Corfu is an absolute delight and we have already booked to go back there next May. Have a look at arillas.com.
Also fell in love with Paleochora further along the coast westwards from Plakias. One day we will return there. Been to lots of other places but none have captured lus like the ones I've mentioned.
George we always keep our beer in the bottom of the fridge (coldest part) and our glasses in the freezer. Tend to leave a smidgeon of water in the bottom of the glass. Helps to give a bit of extra to the head.
I stayed in Pefkos years ago, before I found Plakias, and up to a point I would compare it as it was then with Plakias, but we did revisit about 9-10 years ago and I hated what it had become. So now, in my opinion there is no comparison, Pefkos had become a commecialised haven, with fast food outlets and noisy bars.
Paleochora is so much bigger than Plakias, but does I admit have a similar feel, but not the quaintness of Plakias in my opinion, but I was only there for a couple of days.
I won't comment on your last sentence, it'll get me into trouble!
