Not so much missing it, as looking forward to it... I have just been looking at the weather forecast for the next 10 days in Crete - which looks lovely!  Here in Manchester we have been having downpours with thunder and lightning.  It may finally make an impression on the reservoirs.  We will be in Plakias in five days (Kosta Chryssoula) - soaking up the sun at the far end.  I can't wait.  Now where did we put the suitcases....?

Have a safe journey, we will be there in 9 days time staying at the Paligremnos for 28days, we can hardly beleive this will be our 25th year in Crete  & 22nd in Plakias.

Dave and Les, Thank you - and you have a safe journey too.  We will probably end up sitting next to each other in a taverna or on the beach, and not know!   This will be our fifth trip to Crete and our third to Plakias, so we have a bit of catching up to do (although we have been to the southern Peloponnese around 20 times).  We have been to Plakias at May half-term previously, so expect it will be busier in August.  We love the Paligremnos taverna for lunch - if we are not having gyros and retsina at the souvlaki hut.

It would be great to meet up with you & anyone else enjoying the same 'paradise'.....we sometimes have coffee with Emma/Freddie/Lefti & Linda in the mornings, a (small) beer at the Paligremnos beach bar/taverna late afternoon, and quite often eat at Mousses or we will be popping in to see Angelo/Kostas at 'Kostas', this all depends on what day trips we may be trying to fit in.......

Get the beach warmed up for us and have a good safe journey!!

PLEEEEASE stop all this talk about who what where and when in Plakias, have some feeling about some of us who are having to wait another 10 months before returning to all the wonderful old haunts and people in Plakias, but, all the same, enjoy yourselves and have a Mythos and/or an ouzo for me.

Due out there from Leeeds Bradford 12 noon on 14th Seprtember with Jet 2.

And have just  booked the flights for next year, May to Chania and September to Heraklion.

Well - we will keep quiet about it as well, whispering that we will be there 3 days after you. Looking forward to it. It's a great crowd Sept /Oct but we won't mention that to those who came earlier and are already bedded in for the winter :-))
