We have seen kingfishers in Plakias before but were especially lucky to take this shot while enjoying a lunchtime drink at Ostraco's.

Here are a couple of 'Beach Cat', so called because often he would come down on the beach in the late afternoon and say hello. Apparently he belongs to the people at Nikos Souvlaki.

Here is he sunning himself

Here he is later Looking down at me from a Tamarisk tree by the sunbeds opposite the Alianthos Beach

Dear Bouzouki. I look forward to seeing him each year and I take a handful (or more ) of dog biscuits for him. Thankyou for the lovely photo of him and his new friend of course.

Heather.

Beautiful picture.  I have fallen in love with her.  Do you think she will still be about next year?  So sad if not.

Isn't she beautiful. That settles it , I will force myself up to  Selia this coming May/June , just to say hello to that lovely cat.

We nicknamed the little fella "Fiddle". He had been abandoned but arrangements were made through the wonderful registered charity "Friends of Animals Rethymnon" to collect him and I am given to understand that he was re-homed and is now living in Germany.

Here he is on the same day that Chris took his photo, with his then best friend Bouzouki.

John, I love these pictures so much. As I said, we will look for Bouzouki during our stay in Plakias in May.
See you soon...
