Reccomendations for 2 nights in Plakias
« on: May 29, 2003, 08:04:03 AM »
Hi -

We're visiting Plakias for the first time in late June, and will be there two nights.  We're using the bus to get around, so we'd like to be centrally located.  Has anyone stayed at the Horizon Beach Hotel?

Any reccomendations on lodgings, sites and dining that shouldn't be missed in that brief period?

Thanks in advance!  (sorry this is cross posted but I'm hoping to get a lead here).

For what its worth, we always stay at Tasomanolis, which is just at the top end of town. Simple, clean, very friendly owners - Manolis looks fierce but he's not. Food is very good and we tend to always eat there as well.
We're going back there in August, and we've stayed there for 3 years now, so guess that pretty much says it all really.
Email me if you want some more info.
Cheers

Hello, I know Morpheas rent rooms and Lyvicon hotel.
The rooms are clean and near the see. It is on the road before the bridge.
You can email me if you want other informations.
Bye,
Max

Susan,
go through the Town with the sea on yr left, heading for Souda. As you pass the block of Tavernas on your left, the road bends round to the right. On the corner is a permanantly fixed little fishing boat, smack opposite that is Tasomanolis.
Manolis & Eleni run the place.
Basic, but very clean and friendly, Taverna is worth it also.

Can't work out how to post a picture here but once I do, I'll post one on here.

Cheers

The mention of Tasomanolis reminds me that I stayed there twice about 7 or 8 years ago. I didn't know the names of the people who ran it, but the lady had a bad leg and her husband used to run the boat to Preveli beach. Are these people Manolis and Eleni?
