Does anyone know where these studios are? They are advertised in the Olympic brochure as "1.5K from the resort centre" but "conveniently near the pristine coastline". Do you think this means they'll be near the far end of the beach? Or are they on the road? Any ideas would be good.

Thanks
Penny

I can't swear to it but I'm reasonably sure I saw something of that name (or similar) between the new harbour and Souda beach.

Think they are just off the road near the junction with the road to Myrthios.  Would be quite handy for the beaches at Damnoni and Amoudi - but a fair trek from Plakias, especially at night.  I'd be wary of passing traffic if walking in the dark.

If you're hiring a car you'd be ok.  Otherwise you would be no-where near any shops or restaurants.

Hope this helps.

Found this for you

Labyrinth studios are located near the south coast next to the way to Plakias, about 1000 m from the sandy beach of Damnoni and about 2 min driving from the sandy beach of Plakias. All the studios are airconditioned and they have a private pool with sunbeds and umbrellas

I don't know where these are but it looks like others have located them for you.

It is interesting that this property isn't in my version of the Olympic brochure 2008 so it looks like they have expanded their properties in Plakias as a result of Kosmar's withdrawal and increased demand. I hope they expand it further for 2009.

Hi George,

I have the Labyrinth Studios and the Porto Plakias as new additions to the Olympic fold.

They are mentioned in the Odyssey Worldwide brochure and on their website -www.odysseyworldwide.co.uk.

Hi George,
About eight years ago I met a couple in the Crazy dolphin who were staying at the Labyrinth, they said it was a really nice place to stay if you have a car. Its located by going out of Plakias to the top of the road, turning right and it's situated, set back from the road, about half a mile on the left. too far for me as by the time I got back at night it would be time to go out again ! I still don't know which accommodation to book for August!

How do you usually choose, by location or price, Barny?

After my first attempt at independance last year and chose the location over the price, I have not looked back and have booked the same place, same room. So I know it's going to be good!

Hi TG

I had a feeling the Porto would get chosen by one of the big ones, I walked around the back of the place last year on my way to the Kastro and looked down over that picture they're showing. It's on the roof and did look a bit smart. Bit pricey though £847 (for 14 nights) when I'm going! There again it is 4*.

Not surprisingly, Olympic's current prices reflect the £'s decline against the €. However, Kostas Chrysoulla is still there as "from £195". Does this mean they are having a job selling this accommodation? Chris and Mandy certainly reported that standards had slipped there in 2007.

Yes George i'm the same, I go by location as in near to Kyma and not too much uphill stuff!  this year I am stuck between the Flisvos and Stella both good accomodation, the Stella is a lot quieter which i like but the Flisvos has some good views but the little road alongside can get noisy at times. I suppose I had better sort a flight out too!

I never had any problems with that side road Barny, although if your room was down that side, one might have some traffic noise but it's not that busy. If I remember you stayed there once before.

You don't sound very organised Barny, I got mine sorted out the minute I heard that Kosmar was doing a runner, and got the impression that there might be a few more independants pinching all the flights and the accom. As it was the flight I wanted was unavailable so had to accept a later one.

I must admit I like the sound of the Stella and it looks ok., but it's a bit far back for me!
