recreating Cretan food at home!

I would just like you all to know that I am in the process of making pastitio. I miss the greek food soooo much. I;ll let you know how it goes... anyone else got any authentic recipes?

I make Shrimp Saganaki & despite getting the recipe from Manouli at Christos it doesn't taste the same even when I bring the Graveria back from Plakias!!

Tina made Kleftica once and it was excellant, foil bag, the smell of origami as you opened the package, it was absolutely perfect, except for one thing.
We weren't in Plakias, it just wasn't the same.

It had to be carried outside onto the terrace under the grape vine covered pergola and we sat at the table behind the Tamarisk and the Loquat trees.
It was all washed down with ice cold retzina...
