It is one of 88.000 Harley Davidsons type WLA 45 build for the American army during WWII. Normally only in war museums. This one on the road in Matala.

i've resurected this thread as i think it's full of good information and can be expanded more  

here's a pic of souda bay showing the finikas 'river', we found it quite deep to get across last year and this year avoided it by driving up the road behind the taverna and parking there
