Gmaps - pedometerA really useful tool for finding out whether that long walk you went on really was as far as you thought. I now know that it is just under 1.56km from Costas Chrysoullis to our favourite spot under the trees at the far end of the beach. You have to switch to satellite view for Crete but the imagery is good enough to recognise most places.[a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=6110\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a]
and this is the map .........it starts at patsianos, down the road to agia nektarios, then up the asfendou gorge (phew! tough) over to kallikratis and down the kallikratis gorge
Re. http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/, I've worked out how to get it to measure the distance in a straight line but how do you get it to measure a distance on a route when it isn't a straight line, as most aren't. Mike[a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=6319\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a]
I just ran the pedometer on a route I walk every day. I have always maintained that the distance is 0.7 Km, but it turned out to be 1.4 Km I better not tell my friends about that web site [a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=6329\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a]
