Its is i think too, but is it still a youth hostel? i know it was many years ago but thought it was a private house now. and what  are they building next to a church? Bells on a sunday morning!

early morning or late evening I'd say but I'm not much good at identifying concrete!!  

looks like the after effects of a fun night tho..... is that you Tom?

I think it's the building that was the old youth hostel and in the foregound you can see the Church under construction.

I'd put it about 1995 to 1997.

I don't recognise the character lying on the floor.

You got it almost right, actually all of you did to some extent.   Philipos hostel in late June 1987. The person relaxing on the newly constructed fundament for the church was one of two English punkers who managed the hostel that summer. The time is between 5 and 6 in the afternoon. Those guys  regularly  were the last to leave the Meltemi and seldom had time to sleep before they served breakfast and checked out the departing guests.  

While the picture was taken I was enjoying a pre- or post-shower Amstel in the shade and probably listening to some cool 80s music, like Tracy Chapman.

They were still building the church in 89, but when I came back in 91 it was in use.

The hostel closed in 92 or 93 and the house was turned into apartments. A great loss to the worlds backpackers that was.

Last may, i was wandering around that way on my last day at 6 in the morning and bumped into three aussie girls staggering home

i suppose somethings haven't changed
