We have stayed at Stella for the past 7 years. Very few changes at all over that period - excellent, spotlessly clean etc etc.. The rooms do now have a fridge, free safe and air conditioning - for which you have to pay a surcharge if you require it. Still eggs for breakfast etc..

The biggest change is that First Choice have pulled out of Plakias and Stella is for the first year without a tour company to support them. They are desperately looking for private bookings. We have booked privately with them and are going again (8th time) in late September.

They do not have a website but are mentioned on a local website (fogotten which now) which contains no more details than what I am telling you.

They are charging 30 Euro per room per night.

The only travel companies (I think) going to Plakias are Kosmar and Olympic

Stella Pension is in effect (quite a bit) behind the Livicon Hotel. To get there, walk up the "fish and chip shop road" from the sea and turn left when you get to the T junction (Medusa taverna). Walk about 50 yards and turn right. Stella is about 50 yards up there on the left. I would think 1/4 mile from sea front.

So - about 3 to 5 minutes walk to almost any part of Plakias by the sea front and then onwards to the "far end". You can short cut from Stella to the far end by going along the road via Medusa, behind Alianthos hotel and out into the Alianthos car park and on to the "far end".  You can also take short cuts to the west end of Plakias. Stella is in a very quiet position and as far as I can see is perfectly situated for any activity in Plakias. It is very small - with only about 10 rooms in total.  Simply perfect for us.

Hi,

G&S here.  Often dipped into your forum as a guest in the past, but decided to register as members today (see my post under holiday cos. re flights/car hire).  Just want to add our unreserved recommendation about Stella's too.  We've now stayed there more times than I can remember (always October Half Term week as my wife Sue is a teacher) and despite the language difficulties Stella and Yannis always greet us every year like long lost friends with beaming smiles.  I know they recognise us even if the conversation can't go much beyond our shared few Greek and English words.  

Wonderful, as is Plakias itself.  Ideal for a relaxing week - we tend to travel elsewhere during the rest of the year, but always look forward to our autumn Plakias visit to round things off and most years the weather has been very good.  There's something so nice about wearing shorts and a T shirt during the day and then watching the sunset over the bay before eating outside at night (the Medusa is our personal favourite) during the last week in October!

You are our clones. We always stay at Stella, always eat at Medousa, always hire a car, and always come late in the season - though not quite as late as you.
