Another Newbie!

Just spent the last hour browsing all your messages.  Mostly good news and some bad.  We booked with Olympic, so not happy about lack of rep or transport to accommodation    I've asked Olympic to confirm - we'll see!!

We're going on 5 October to Kostas-Chrysoulla studios - we'd be happy to meet up with any of you .....

As you may have realised by now, Plakias is a wonderful place and much loved by all here on this board. I wouldn't worry too much about your tour operator as they will do will do their job and once you are there you shouldn't need them anyway.

If you have any questions pleask ask away and don't forget to check the new postings.

Hi Andy,

I wouldn't worry too much about the lack of rep. We have never used the services of ours. If you wanted to book excursions you will find it cheaper to do it independently anyway. Plus of course you have a mine of information here, just ask away!

We'll be long gone by the time you get there in October but I hope you have a wonderful time (I'm sure you will).

I've obviously missed some of the earlier correspondence on this topic, but if Olympic is saying you will not have transport or the services of a rep I would ask them to refund some of the cost of the holiday. Their brochure clearly says both transfers and the services of a rep are included in the price.

I agree that most folk (i.e. the non-whingeing sort) don't use the rep.  However, I have on several occasions seen that they were really useful for unplanned events or emergencies.

I also agree that you will glean more information from this website than the average rep will know and that excursions are much cheaper booked independently, although I advise checking that they are not for nationalities other than British, as this could mean that you have passed something of interest before you hear the commentary.

I've also had feedback from Olympic who said:

In response to your queries please note that, as is stated in our brochure information feature there are certain units whose location means that coaches cannot stop directly outside the accommodation and therefore stop as close as possible with clients having to walk a short distance to the accommodation.  
All resorts have representatives and you will be advised when she/he will attend at your accommodation.

So that's OK then!!!

It is definitely the case that some Olympic guests have not been met by a rep this year.
There are usually arrangements to get your suitcases delivered however, and nowhere is a long walk.
However, Kostas is a short level walk - and everyone in town knows where it is. We were in Kostas this year, and walked there in a couple of minutes from the coach stop. Don't worry - there's always someone to help.

COSMOS ARE BACK IN TOWN
Yes it's official from the horses mouth Cosmos will be at the LAMON
 in 2005 with a possible option for 2006
The Lamon has been predominately Czeck for the last 2 yrs and it was a finantial disaster. So there you have it, it may not be in the first edition but it is definate.
We've just got back and as usual were made to feel like family at the Lamon, I've now got to go on a diet to get rid of all those extra pounds put on eating Zacharulas pastries, but it was worth it.

 Lamon is a hotel .They do bed and breakfast .No restaurant but they do snacks and ice creams etc and a bar of course , It is a nice location on the front and near the Livicon .Having breakfast on the Lamon balcony is a good start to the day
