Freddie Demeyere
« on: February 25, 2014, 08:05:33 AM »
I am sure many of you will have known Freddie Demeyere from Belgium. He and is wife Frieda were regulars to Plakias in Spring and Autumn. Frieda rang me today to tell me the very sad news that Freddie died yesterday. She asked me to inform anyone that I could. We will remember him always for his cheerfulness, friendship and bravery he showed in overcoming his disability and making his regular trips to Plakias which he enjoyed so much. We will miss him so much on our visits there

Freddie was my good friend and I am very sad today

He was a talented musician who lost the ability to play but that never changed his attitude to life and living it. We had so many fun nights at the Medousa, I couldn't tell you how many times we were just reduced to tears of laughter.

RIP mate I am sure someone will have a guitar for you there

Hello,
I am writing this on behalf of my mother, Heather,(travellingran) as she is still unable to manage this following her stroke.

Heather asks me to pass on how very sorry to hear of the death of Freddie who she remembers very well. Also Frieda , if Chris would pass on her sincere condolences .  Mum said ' Oh , dear Freddie , such a terrible loss .

Heather will , I am sure , post further as small steps are being made to at least be able to type.

Thankyou , Chris, .

For and on behalf of Heather ,  Louise.

Sorry to hear your news Heather.

Here is hoping for a speedy recovery and for hearing from you in person soon.

This made me very sad! Consuelo and I meet them during our 2006's holidays in Plakias but we felt immediatly like old friends with Freddie and his wonderful wife Frieda.

Maybe @harribobs knows who did the picture? ;-)

All the best to her and to his family,
Alex & Consuelo
