Costas Chrysoula - OK for family?
« on: July 01, 2014, 09:09:34 AM »
Just booked flights for Oct half term and looking at Plakias as hoping weather better on south coast plus the resort just seems so nice.

Anyway, seen loads of good reports about the Costas Chrysoula but am wondering if its OK for families or more just couples? I have a 9 and 14 year old do just covering the bases.

Thanks

Scott

Perfect for either families or couples, very friendly and helpful staff, and of course the Greeks are very family orientated in the first place. Sure you'll have a lovely time as there is plenty to see and do there. We were there last October and the weather was still about 30 degrees, although that was a very good year.

Welcome to the forum, slewis.

We have been visiting Plakias since our (now 15 year old) daughter was about 6, and she loves it (and very much to the point, so do we!).  We have stayed at Costas Chrysoula many times, and they always make us welcome.  We went at October half-term last year, and took a friend of our daughter too.  We have always been with a package holiday, and Olympic offers only studios for up to 3.  This means that for four people we need two studios, which is a bit expensive.  However, it looks as if you are going independently, in which case I am pretty sure Costas Chrysoula has apartments.

Plakias is definitely winding-down by the end of October.  Despite that, there was enough to keep two 14 year olds entertained.  We were lucky with the weather on our trip, as it was unusually warm and sunny for that time of year.  I wrote a report on our October trip here http://forums.plakias.co.uk/index.php?topic=1946.15

Enjoy your trip

Over the years we've always enjoyed staying with Costas at Costas Chrysoulas. The only (slight) complaint we've ever heard came from those in the room directly next to the bar...as the bar can be fun and a bit noisy until the early hours but otherwise no complaints and loads of us who rebook year after year....with children or without. The pool is small and easily watchable and I am sure the beaches will suit.....the water will be warm after a year of sunshine and the sands are clean (blue flag standard) and safe for bathing or playing. You might get some rainy days but everyone is so friendly so I am sure you'll find something to do for all the family.

You can contact the accommodation direct - we've done this before - and, to be honest, they are very reasonable and the accommodation is clean, smart, comfy and simple. Always worth asking. We'll be there in Sept but enjoy your hols ! Google them and their site becomes easily available.

You are being very mysterious!  Perhaps the special guests can reveal their identity, if they are forum members.

So happy for them that they can spend their vacation in Plakias.  Please give them our best regards from Hugo and Huguette from Belgium.  They are so missed in Plakias.

Staying at Kostas Chrysoulla at the moment. Having a great time but maybe we shot ourselves in the foot by requesting a quiet studio. No. 58 is ok, but not one that's been refurbished. Also, just a reminder - if you get No. 55, insist on moving, as the view from the balcony is just a stairwell! Wifi is good, in that it reaches all studios, not just the bar area.

We found the internet connection at KC very slow. Luckily, the signal from Korali was strong and was a much faster connection. We hadn't eaten at Korali so didn't have the password, but they weren't very imaginative when choosing it so we got it after a couple of guesses. :)
