Gatwick to Plakias with Strategic
« on: May 12, 2011, 03:59:25 PM »
Sorry to bang on about this topic of Strategic flight times, but as I have less than 5 weeks to go, panic is setting in.
Has anyone been to Plakias (and I assume come back) with Olympic, flying from Gatwick on Strategic Airlines, leaving at the scheduled time of 11.25?
I am interested to find out if the transfers are the usual long journey with multiple drops, and what time arrival in Plakias took place. I hate rushing, and would look forward to a leisurely shower before heading out for the hot spot(s) of Plakias on my first night (always overdo it somewhat on the first night!)
Feedback please as you return would be appreciated.

Based on timings in the past for the 9.15am Monarch flight you ought to arrive by 9.30pm, in plenty of time to eat.

I don't know why people get so bothered about the prolonged transfer, just sit back, enjoy the scenery, and be thankful you aren't spending your holiday in some of the grotty places you drop off at!!

Although the fact that some transfers go directly to Plakias and some take over an hour longer is an irritation for some, the sharing of transfers is one of the ways Olympic prices are so good and usually less than booking independently. Should you really not be able to bear it then fork out for a taxi. Although I wouldn't dream of this myself (for one reason you are miles safer in a coach) I have known otherwise sane people do just that. (if you do that then please tell the rep otherwise they could waste time looking for you).
