If you're into treasure hunts, you can always try to find some of the geocaches in the area. There's one at the top of Timeos Stavros, Paul - look out for it when you're there.

If you are new to geocaching, it's worth checking the home page to find out what it's all about.

Oh no, don't get me into Geocaching. I can see me becoming hooked and justifying more new expensive gadgetry!

Reminds me of the letterboxing I did on Dartmoor as a kid with my Dad.

I will take a look for it though

Sigh... too late.

Have downloaded CacheBerry for my Blackberry and there are quite a few near home and work to get me started.

Graham, what have you done?

Truth is - none! There are a couple near us but haven't got a gps device. I will definitely download info on the ones near Plakias (by car) so we can look out for them on our travels.
BTW - I see you fly back on 27th - same flight by any chance (Easyjet to Gatwick around 1pm). Not that it makes any difference. If we had hired a larger car we could have given you a lift but, as we found 2 years' ago, the Aygo boot doesn't even take our cases!

Only went and left my BlackBerry charger at home, forgot my new one was Micro USB... rats
So no GPS which makes things trickier!
Anyone know where I might get a Micro USB charger in Plakias? (or a USB -> Micro USB lead)

Oh well at least the Livikon wireless works great and the sun is shining again :-)

Our olympus cameras use a micro USB cable (I think) but that's only USB to micro YSB - ok to charge from a PC but not from the mains. I'll bring it out in case it's useful

You can buy very cheaply a mains to usb plug/socket  into which the usb lead will plug. I think I saw one in Tesco but certainly if you can get to a major computer store.

I'm hoping Denis will let me have the Livicon code so I can use my iphone there. Must talk to him nicely. Forecast now looks good as well. See you in 9 days or so.

I should be able to charge it for you when I get there on Friday.

FWIW

The newly introduced "Standard" for phone (and other similar devices) is micro-USB, so there shouldn't be a problem finding a suitable charger anywhere in the EU ..... well, that's what the theory is, anyway.

Found the Geocache near the tunnels - not too difficult to find. Lucky Karen remembered the description of the location as I'd forgotten to bring it out with us.
