Great photos, Greecemad. We have been thinking of staying in Paleochora, and I see that it has a lovely sandy beach and a pebbly beach. Can you tell me whether the sandy beach is textile only, it would be be a shame if we had to go to the pebbly beach to strip off.
Graham and Karen,
Mike has already given a good answer to this. The far end at Paleochora is not as popular as the far end at Plakias, but when I was in Paleochora this year it was quite windy.
There is also another beach about an hour's walk to the east. This has a clothes-optional end, and is probably as popular as the far end of the main beach. On the way there are other pebbly bits where it is possible to sunbathe and swim in whatever attire you like.
Nudism is more popular at Sougia. The most popular half of the beach is clothes-optional, mostly nude. Sougia can easily be done as a day trip from Paleochora, using the ferry (45 mins each way), if you are not sure about staying there.
