Anna's Apartments-Plakias
« on: January 05, 2006, 12:11:56 AM »
We have booked our flights for July/August 2006 and we are definitely going back to Plakias (Barring unforseen circumstances)!

We are considering Anna's Apartments in Plakias itself. This is not to be confused with Anna's apartments in Mirthios. Their website looks good with seemingly some excellent endorsements from people who have stayed there.

Has anybody been there? If so would you be so kind as to post your comments?

Steve,
A search of the site should bring up previous postings on Anna Appts in Plakias. Ploppy & Marg. and Allan &Fran. have stayed there and, I'm sure were quite happy. We have seen the appartments and they were quite spacious and well appointed (better than what we are used to). The owners were very friendly and offered us Raki that was far better than the post meal 'freebie' you get in the restaurants. The location is good - close to the town but quiet.
Have a great time.

As Graham says we have stayed at Annas for many years and can recommend it highly.  It is situated in a quiet location on the back road on the way to the youth hostel with a level and easy walk to the seafront, tavernas and shops.  There are two blocks each with four apartments.  The largest apartment with two balconies and the best views is No.4 but you may find that this is already reserved because Anna has a very high level of repeat business from independent travellers.  The rooms are spacious and well equipped - air conditioning was fitted a couple of years ago and is included in the price.  They also now have TVs but these receive only Greek channels!

Anna and Stavros are a professional couple who live in Rhythemnon and speak and write excellent English.  They have their own apartment in the first block and are often there at weekends when they will almost certainly invite you to have refreshments with them.  The day to day management of the apartments is the responsibility of Amalia who keeps the complex spotless, always has a ready smile but has rather limited English.  This does not present a difficulty since she understands more than she can speak!  Arrivals and departures at odd hours are normally not a problem.

If you choose Anna's, I don't think that you will be disappointed.  I would suggest that you should email Anna direct with your requirements (and to enquire whether No 4 is free!) rather than use the booking form on the Interkriti site.
