Plakias bicycle hire
« on: May 07, 2012, 07:21:34 PM »
Thinking of hiring a bicycle whilst in Plakias, I know there is one somewhere in Plakias, but does anyone know if you can also hire a extra bit for the bike to put a three year old in ??? I have seen them in in other resorts....think they might be called 'child bike trailers' !!

Over to you !!
Dave

Have a look at this one, they advertise child stuff.  http://www.ansovillas.com/travel-services/rent-a-bike.html    There is a place on the same road as the post office that rents bikes too but don't remember the name?

I think you mean Easyride, if so this no longer trades but its assets were taken over by Anso

Hi The anso site dosent seem to have any prices ..has anyone any idea roughly how much it is to hire a fairly ordinary (street) bike  for a week please ?
Was the one that has closed down in the same street as the fish and chip shop?

Yes, it was easy ride (not a dating agency) it changed to Anso and dealt with just cycling and is in the same road as the chip shop.

Easy ride is the same cycle hire shop next door to the 'Fish and Chips'. I rented a bike there for years ( I recall his name may have been Achille. )

Four years ago however I turned up as usual to find he had moved to Austria.

Much missed though as he always had a terrific choice and frame sizes.  Since then I have stayed at Rowena and Carl's apartment where their own pushbikes are available. Rowena's bike was great but............ Rowena is tall and I am not. ( I did notice that a lot of privately owned bikes were Ex Easy Rider and obviously their stock has been sold.
So having tried to ride Rowenas enormous bike and failed miserably I have since then valiantly given up.
I am full of hope that another person will start hiring them out soon.

I still have old Easy Rider receipts and he charged me 67Euro for 7 days four years ago. Always extra though for child seats , baskets etc.,. May be you can use these prices as a rough guide.

Good Luck,
Heather.

There are a couple of places to rent push bikes from. One next to the post office and Anso Travel. They may even be the same company. Expect to pay 15 euros a day ! You might be lucky to find a child seat attached to a bike but Ive been to Plakais for 10 yrs and never seen a trailer. Good luck and happy cycling

Hmmmm

Just Rentals are quoting a tad under Euro 22 for a Toyota Aygo or similar, from which they have to pay road tax, insurance and servicing. Last time I was on Kos (2011) the going pushbike rate was Euro 5 per day.
