Location: Here on Plakias Map Had dinner here on our first day, in September 2006. Situated on the front, overlooking the port. Starters were delivered, followed by the main course two minutes later. Complaint was met with “if I take them away, they will not taste the same laterâ€. Response of how about taking them away and cooking fresh portions when we have finished the starters did not warrant a reply. Food itself was fine (if cold by the time it was eaten) and cheap, but price is not the sole component of a satisfactory meal and we never returned. |

Mike G | May 29, 2009, 01:09:19 PM Little changed for 2009, including the prices. Set meals €6.00- €8.90 per person to include mixed starters, choice of mains, dessert, raki and 0.5L. house wine. Still the best value in Plakias IMHO. Go hungery if you want to finish the set meals. |
LenG | September 26, 2008, 08:14:49 PM Most terrible dinner ever in my memory. Waiters shouting at each other. Full with stress. We ordered a simple fish. Only one half was all right, the other was very raw. The ambiance and quality: - - - - |
Graham_and_Karen | September 25, 2008, 09:00:08 PM This year we had the same problem with a Mousaka that was cold in the middle. That plus an unfriendly attitude has definitely lowered our opinion of the place |
Chris H. | August 07, 2008, 10:56:26 AM Mwha, went there last year once, mediocre food, big tv set blasting (German footballmatch, don't mention the war ![]() This year we did not go but one evening when we where having a drink nextdoor in Ostracos and we where sitting next to a french couple eating at Moussos and the side windows where open because of the heat the small talkative waiter served the French a raki and then started to serve us raki too while we where at Ostracos!!! |
Mike G | May 22, 2008, 10:34:11 AM Still my favourite in Plakias. The value is exceptional and this is partly (but not exclusively) due to the set meals. In common with the other 4 tavernas backing on to the promenade by the harbour, the ambience cannot really be equalled by other tavernas. Service occasionally struggles when busy but Sergeo usually manages to keeps things on track. House red wine is excellent. Always a complimentary dessert with the obligatory raki. |
Graham_and_Karen | September 23, 2007, 11:32:56 AM Good food and, if you have a set menu, amazingly cheap. One slight minus point when Karen's Briam (part of a mixed Veggie dish) was cold but overall, very happy to eat there. |
Noopsy | August 16, 2007, 04:51:32 PM To start with I had a beetroot salad which was delicious: vinegary and refreshing. For my main meal I had goat à la Gavdos. There was a bit of a wait for it but it was worth it. The waiter served it with a bleating sound! It was absolutely delicious. It consisted of pieces of meat and potatos topped with cream cheese and dill, and presented in a greaseproof paper "pocket". The dishes were cleared away quickly, and a menu furnished so I ordered ice-cream with mixed fruit. But before it arrived I was served with 2 pieces of cake and a raki. Eventually the ice-cream appeared. The bill came to a VERY reasonable €14.50. Prices at this restaurant are lower than in some others, and the service is quite quick. |
Lut Azijn | August 07, 2007, 08:28:31 AM We had a very similar experience in July 2007, so they have not learnt much since then. Our main course arrived almost immediately after the starters. We are pretty laid back and tolerant so in itself this would not annoy us really, but they also took away the plates with the starters which were not finished before we could say anything. We eat pretty much anything, but the food we were served here was NOT nice. It all had the same sour taste and was quite greasy. A sharp contrast with the meals we had at any other restaurant in Plakias. The waiter was very friendly and joked a lot, which I can image could be a bit over the top for some people. We never went back because the food was so much better in other places ... Lut |
