Harakas

Location:
Here on the Plakias Map

Had one lunch and two dinners in September 2006.

Located on the inland side of the main street, opposite the square car park.

Food and service was to a good standard, though not the best in our opinion, but recommended. The roast pepper and feta starter is particularly good.

We enjoyed 2 excellent meals at Harakas - marred slightly by a suspiciously curly hair in the mushrooms a la creme. The manageress/owner was very attentive, noticing that Karen hadn't finished her food, was then apologetic, polite and made amends with a lemon liquer and a coupleof euro off the bill - very impressed.

Visited twice during our stay in Sept 2008 and had very good meals each time although on the second visit I wasn't feeling too good because of too much raki the night before (but that's another story). Service was excellent and prices reasonable.

Good food and service, very nice people, make sure you sit on the right side of the restaurant (facing the sea) cause the waiter working there is much better than the one on the other side, not that he is unfriendly much he misses the flair the other one has.

We ate there twice - the second time, specifically to have the 'Mushrooms a la Creme with Rice' that Karen had had the first time. Couldn't have been better. Can't say much about the rest of the menu but what we had was good.

One of our favorite eating places in Plakias.

The menu has something for everyone, the only disappointment was they did not have any baby goat, (nor did several other restaurants), so I wont hold that against them.

The house wine was always good, and the raki was the best I tasted this year.

The staff are always friendly, even when they are rushed off their feet.

We will be back.

I ate there on numerous occasions this year and it never seems to change. The food is always good, the one meal that stood out was the Lemon Sole with lemon Sauce, excellent. Christina as always is lovely and always remembers your face. I've never had a bad word to say about Harakas, hopefully I never will.

They've now got separate menus for the Czechs and Poles, if the waiter does'nt understand you he will ask 'Nationality?' and go and get the relevant menu. Nice touch!

Always busy here.  I had a tomato salad and a pastitsio.  They serve draught Mythos so I had a large one!  I found the food here rather indifferent: the main dish, although piping hot, had a "ready-made meal" taste to it.  The bill came to €9.35.

I find this restaurant particuarly good if you have young children, as they have a separate menu for children. Everyhing we ate there was good and so was the service.
