Location: Here on the Plakias Map Situated about 300 yards West of the port, up the hill on the Souda road. Our favourite, dining there four times in September 2006. Fairly small menu, but the attraction is the chalked up specials and the fresh fish. Someone in the kitchen really knows how to cook! Attractive “tiered†interior and good view over the bay. |

Voloudakis | April 09, 2013, 09:25:43 PM Ate here once in June 2012. The Tuna was excellent but sadly it is not the Siroco it once was. Portions small and the cooking of the rest of the meal no longer outstanding as it once was. It may have been an off night but we did not see our usual hosts and their Son Babis has left. We really hope that 2013 is a better year for them. Siroco has a beautiful position to watch the sunset. |
ChrisNJulie | July 12, 2009, 11:23:11 AM We ate a couple of times again this year. Excellent friendly service - BTW is the owner a Fabio Capelli lookalike or is it just me? The Fillet Pork in Hoeny sauce is fabulous and is highly recommended. |
Noopsy | October 15, 2008, 03:08:05 PM The place was really packed when I visited but the service was quite prompt, at first. What distinguishes this restaurant from others: olives served with the bread; the food is beautifully presented (tastes OK too); they have Cretan music playing discreetly in the background. Reasonable value for money. |
Mike from Sussex | October 10, 2008, 01:17:22 PM Still our favourite, we ate there three times this year. The best house red we have found in Plakias, as a bonus to the food. |
greekblue | September 22, 2008, 05:23:50 PM We ate here twice during our stay in Sept. 2008 and had excellent meals on both occasions. There seemed to be more Germans here than English but that wasn't a problem. The freeby that came with the bill was a delicious chocolate/syrup cake (not for the calorie-conscious) together with the usual glass of raki. |
JBMouse | June 18, 2008, 04:05:50 PM 2008 report: Great! Prices not much changed since 2005, you get a piece of cake as compliments of the house (other tavernas do the same). The good cook mentioned is Mum. Cannot praise the cooking, atmosphere, views or prices enough, so we eat there every other day of our 2 week holiday. |
Graham_and_Karen | September 23, 2007, 11:47:33 AM No complaints - the food was good and the food is served calmly and efficiently (see my review of Manousses for a different experience). It was very busy when we went but we didn't have a long wait for our food. |
JBMouse | August 22, 2007, 02:49:24 PM A favourite of ours, Babis and his father are very friendly, and there is always a 'compliments of the house' plate of yoghurt, fruit and honey when the bill is asked for, and, if you are really good Babis will offer a Raki as well. If, like me, you prefer Ouzo, then so too does Babis, and there then follows a couple of hours whilst we both buy each other another ouzo! (or 5) The place is great for the Dinosaur sunsets whilst starting your meal, and watching the headlights on the Souda road later on. |
Lut Azijn | August 07, 2007, 08:39:38 AM I had stuffed squid as one of their specials. It was out of this world ! Lut |
