Harribobs- If I am not mistaken you probably took this picture right about where Skinos 2 is located, which would make this the site of the harbour and the view you would get looking to the town.

One of the pictures Leen has linked to is of the Kalives Beach hotel, not far from Hania. Hope they recover OK.

about halfway up that little hill!

We went up there again this year after frightening ourselves some years back. Was very little different but didn't seem too bad this time though I think knowing what to expect actually helpred rather than hindered

Got to that interesting bridge over the gorge this time as well. But what an overall change over the years. One reason we didn't go as far as the bridge last time was the really narrow roads which seemed to be going nowhere (in our ignorance). This time the roads were really improved and (sadly??) signs of tourism everywhere.

Got to the bridge and drove over with confidence (only because of chat on this forum) The kiosk on the other side was very good. He does now do cooked meals and we found him very friendly and very cheap especially some super honey he had for sale on the counter. Plenty of parking everywhere we went. Going on beyond was also on wide roads till we got to the end and walked around the village. All very nice indeed. I walked over the bridge and could look down into the gorge ok - no problems. I think it just depends on one's frame of mind. If it had been all unexpected I might have been more apprehensive. Will do it again next year.
