Here is a high dynamic range photo (one under-exposed, one over-exposed and one normal photo merged)

And here is one taken in Lagos

Downloading the V3 trial version now to try it out - is that the version you've used?

Yes that is the fella though I see they now have a V4 trial version out now. May splash out on it if I start doing more of these, on offer at $55 dollars at the moment.

I'm impressed by the v4 trial version: it livens up photos without much effort and without making them seem artificial.
Here's a 'snap' taken with iAuto mode on my Olympus FE370.

I still haven't mastered the task of adding an image from a file - I uploaded the file but it hasn't appeared in the post.  ?? Help appreciate.

Super photo of the ol' country, Graham.  [Sigh.]

My (brand new) camera has a "Vivid" picture control (which I haven't tried out yet).  I wonder if it would have the same effect?

Hmm strange, the file was not uploaded. It doesn't exist on the hosts server.

I assume you browsed to it, clicked upload, then used the Manage Current Attachments drop-down to insert it into your post?

Lovely pic by the way.

Yes - I followed the procedure as you described above. I assume it doesn't matter that I was using Firefox rather than IE7.

Seriously though, NY looks fab.
Where did you take that pic from? Empire State?

Was that the prize you won from the comp?

BTW  Why are the tree's painted white on the lower trunk, just curious

Many years ago I have heard it is a protection against the sun during the winter and spring,
because the bark of the trees can dry out. It avoids damages on the tree trunk and
the bark of the trees shall be protected.

I have no other idea because I am not gardener.

The answer to the question why the tree trunks are white- It is to protect the trees from insects ,bugs, etc.
