What's it like in October?
« on: March 12, 2008, 11:27:56 AM »
Hello!
I am thinking of going for the first time in October and I wondered if anybody could tell me what the weather is likely to be like then?
I'd like to be able to sunbathe and swim - will it be possible?
Thanks!

Hi

This question is often asked. We always go late Sept / early to mid October.. Definitely ok for swimming and sunbathing - assuming the sun is out. Weather can be slightly more variable in October with sometimes an occasional rainy day but we have never been disappointed. It tends to get a bit cooler in the evenings and something warmer to wear then may be needed (not always though). Usually warm enough to eat in the evening on outdoor tables till Mid October - sometimes later - this is where variability tends to come in and difficult to predict. A good time to visit in our opinion.

Yes I agree with John, we always do an October trip & the weather can vary, last Oct was like June however June was like the Sahara in August! No Seriously we have had varied weather but never been disappointed and always come home with a good tan & plenty of memories lying on the beach & swimming in very warm water (best time for the water). The good thing is the days that are not so good force you to go & expore or have long lazy greek lunches both most enjoyable.  Just do take a few warm oufits for evening just incase but not always necessary.

Hope you go & enjoy
