Ifigenia Apartments?
« on: August 28, 2006, 05:40:10 PM »
Hi all,

First time poster, but a long time visitor to Plakias, I was hoping for some advice.  I have been returning to Plakias since '96, and have stayed at the Village Apartments and Anna Apartments in Mirthios, and more recently I have been staying at the Plakias Bay Hotel and the Peligremnos.

Next May/June I will be retiring (at the ripe old age of 36!) and have decided to spend the entire summer in Plakias (probably mid May - Mid September).  Most of the time it will only be myself and my wife, but now and then I expect friends to pop over and stay a week or so therefore I need a place that can accomodate 2 couples comfortably.

About the only place I have found that seems to fit the bill is Ifigenia Apartments.  These look nice and are in just the right spot (usually go to Damnoni/Amoudi/far end of Plakias beach.

Anyone have any experience with this place?

I am looking for somewhere that is close enough to town to be convenient, but the last thing I want is to be woken up at 9am every morning by a maid or landlord.  We often visit friends for dinner and do not arrive back until the early hours - that was the biggest problem with the Plakias Bay Hotel  - over eager cleaners

So any advice you guys can offer on a nice place with a couple of bedrooms would be much appreciated!

Or if anyone knows of a reasonably priced house/villa in Plakias that may be available during that period I would also consider that.

p.s did not visit this year because of work but I heard a rumor that the Meltemi has closed - is this true?  Hopefully not as this was usually the toilet stop off on the stagger back from town the hotel

Hello Mike,
sad but true: the meltemi does no longer exist. we found the house still there, but the furniture had been removed and the formerly garden was in ruins. Further  information and discussion about the projected alianthos building on the aerea can be found throughout the search function of this forum...

e.g. here: http://forums.plakias.co.uk/index.php?show...&hl=meltemi

No more dancing in meltemi...

Rooms that will meet your needs are not so hard to find. I would recommend "ours" but we want to go back next year, too

Good luck
