best bars

Going to Plakias next month,can anybody tell me about the best bars etc thanks

Bars are subjective. Local bar Ton Kzezoni,  then good relaxing bars but with music playing in parts Ostraco and the Smerna. Lively with a Younger element Nufaro.(Joe's bar) and Beach bar Mess Tin Ammo. There is another good beach bar at the far end at the Paligremnos.
On the Rocks is good and more sheltered from the wind, has a wide selection and stocks bottles of local beers from Rethymnon. There are others but I have not drunk in them. Favourites in no order, On the Rocks, Ostraco, Nufaro, Mess Tin Ammo, Paligremnos and Ton Kzezoni.

Nufaro gets my vote, for an early evening aperitif at least.

Used to frequent the Platia bar but it seemed to go downhill a bit, and not sure it was actually still open on our last visit if it returns in its previous form then would certainly give it a go.
